I love Pinterest. If you haven’t seen my boards, you really need to check them out HERE. I’m a crazy pinning woman. I LOVE Pinterest! Did I say that already? Pinterest has some amazing crafts, recipes, fashion ideas, blog information and just great reads. It truly has become a search engine, replacing Google for me in many ways. So it makes sense that Pinterest is my go to for my 2-week menu planning.
Two of my favorite bloggers have just finished stocking their freezer with some meals. Jamerrill from The Encouraging Homeschool Mom has some great videos. You can find the links HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE. Amy from Raising Arrows just finished completed her shopping and cooking. Jamerrill cooked for a full month, while Amy cooked for a week. I’m not sure which way I want to do this yet. Both ways have some great ideas.
Now, I haven’t tried this in years. With school starting next month, I thought over the next month would be a great time to plan try out some meals and try this again. For the next 2-weeks, we will be trying out crock pot meals. If these meals meet our family approval they will be added to the list for crock pot freezer meals.
I had found an article about planning freezer meals while shopping at Aldi from I Am That Lady. The meals looked good, and the price was right, so I purchase The Dump Plan and the Freezer Cooking Plan. Along with those and recipes, I found on The Krazy Coupon Lady, which linked to other pages. I found the recipes I wanted to use.
Next, I pulled out my calendar, I needed to know what was happening over the next 2 weeks. You see on Sunday my middle boy turns 11 and it is his choice for dinner. Life is busy lately with doctor appointments, field trips, and church. Now that I know what my week looks like, I know where my meals can go.

Most of these meals with be using my Crock Pot. As a homeschooling Mama, it is my best friend. It is the best way to guarantee that my family will be fed at a good time instead of when I remember it. Amazon has a crock pot similar to mine HERE, but you can find the exact Crock Pot I use at Walmart HERE. Honestly, I have 3 of them.
Here is what is for dinner for the next 2 weeks

Over the next 2 weeks on my Facebook Page, I will let you know what we think of these recipes.
All recipes get a star ranking by each person. This is based on personal taste. If the recipe is ranked lower then 4 stars it gets tossed, but if it is ranked 4 or 5 stars, we try it again. While each person also tells what they think would make the recipe better, sometimes it is just a change in spice, and other times it is a different cooking method.
So when we give our report, we will also give a ranking and our family suggestions. If the family likes the recipe then we will add it to our list for the monthly cooking that will happen next month.
If you want more information here are some great articles.
