As far back as I can remember I had a love for handmade gifts and crafting. You would always find my aunts and Grandmas with some kind of crafting project in hand.
My dad’s mom, Mimi, was and still is always sewing something. They always made time for the things they loved whether it was quilting, crocheting, sewing garments or making dolls and bears. Everything was made with someone else in mind, sometimes it was a gift, but often it would be a project to be sold. These were women who not only made amazing things, but had confidence in themselves and their product to sell it to others.
Creativity from desperation
With the birth of Samuel, we had a lot of extra medical bills that we weren’t expecting. I was trying to find a way to make extra money to just help make the ends meet. I think best while my hands are busy, and during this time I looked down and my hands and realized I was crocheting. My aunt Karen had made extra money selling her blankets, why couldn’t I do the same thing? I even have the advantage of the internet and an Etsy store.
